Graduate Student (MSc or PhD in Health Sciences),

Carleton University, Ottawa, ON

We are looking for highly motivated graduate students (MSc or PhD in Health Sciences) to participate in our ongoing projects investigating antimicrobial resistance and chronic biofilm infections. These projects will use in vitro and in vivo models and a combination of state of the art microbiological, molecular, biochemical, functional genomics, microscopy, cell biology and immunology approaches.

Basic Requirement

MSc candidates must hold a Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant field (e.g. Microbiology & Immunology, Life Science or Health Science) from a recognized institution with a minimum of A- (80%) average overall. PhD candidates must hold a Master of Science degree in a relevant field (e.g. Microbiology & Immunology, Life Science or Health Science) from a recognized institution with a minimum of A- (80%) average overall. We are looking for a friendly, organized team player with interest in interdisciplinary research, who is highly self-motivated, is able to work independently, has excellent written and oral communication skills and has demonstrated excellence at the academic level and in research. Strong problem-solving skills are highly desired. A combination of the following laboratory skills would be beneficial: experience in microbiology, microscopy, molecular biology (DNA, RNA, Protein), genomics, tissue culture, flow cytometry or animal models.
